Creating a QR code

With the QR code feature, you can create a unique QR code for each device that includes its device ID. The QR code can be printed and attached to the device making device management more easily.

The QR code contains a URI containing the device ID.

URI format: thingId://<thingId>
Example: thingId://smarthome:thermostate_kitchen

QR codes can be accessed from two places:

• Creating a QR code from the device details:

  1. Open the device you want to create a QR code for.

  2. Click the QR Code button.

  3. Save the generated QR code to the desired location.

• Creating a QR code from withing a device details widget:

  1. Add a device details widget to the dashboard, refer to Device Details Widget.

  2. Click the QR Code icon on the device details widget.

  3. Save the generated QR code to the desired location.
